a little paint and elbow grease

Trash to treasure is always something you hear connected to antiques and collectibles. There are primitive styles that have very little restoration done and the fine furniture that is showroom perfect. But, in between there is a little niche that fits the trash to treasure title well.

This little dining set is a project that Denise Beverly is working on to place in the store. Originally a natural wood finish, then painted over several times by who knows how many different people. The set is a married set of Ethan Allen chairs and a table from the 50's. Covered in various stages of completion with white paint, much of the paint was flaking off or peeling.

Denise has stripped the table top and stained it, finishing it off with the Natchez Solution we sell in the store. The skirt and legs of the table and the chairs are painted with a custom mixed green paint that is reminiscent of an old porch in the country. (chair does not have a second coat in this shot) It would be great on a 3 season porch, in a country kitchen or in a small house or apartment where there isn't room for a large farmhouse table.

It should arrive in the store in the third week of January.
